Rausch et al. 25 showed that polymorphisms in several cytokine genes were associated with changes in physical functioning (i.e., IL1B, IL10, and IL1RN), mental health (IL1RN), emotional role functioning (IL6), and social functioning (IL6, IL1RN, and tumor necrosis factor superfamily) in a study with lung cancer survivors. The gene discussed is IL10; the disease is lung carcinoma.
