Upon evaluating the biomarkers candidates already proposed for acute kidney injury and other renal diseases in our data, the results appointed retinol-binding protein (RBP4), beta-2-microglobulin (B2M), cystatin-C (CST3), hepcidin (HAMP), and fatty acid-binding protein (L-FABP) as promising candidates for kidney function surveillance in Bothrops envenoming. This evidence concerns the gene B2M and urogenital neoplasm.
