Furthermore, Gao et al. demonstrated that the CaSki-derived exosomes exhibited overexpressed UCA1 and SRY-Box Transcription Factor 2 (SOX2) levels, but decreased miR-122-5p expression, whereas the silencing of UCA1 in the CD133+CaSki stem cells (squamous cell carcinoma or SCC) was able to upregulate miR-122-5p and downregulate SOX2, resulting in their suppressed proliferation, migration, and invasion. This evidence concerns the gene UCA1 and squamous cell carcinoma.
