Numerous proteins pivotal to critical signaling pathways associated with CRC, including the Wnt/β-catenin, EGFR, and TGF-b signaling pathways, the phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase (PI-3-K) pathways, KRAS, p53, extracellular matrix regulators, and EMT transcription factors, have exhibited alterations and appear to be subject to regulation by miRNAs in the context of CRC [29] (summarized in Table 1 and Figure 3).
