Melanoma exosomes have been shown to induce a spectrum of macrophage phenotypes secreting a variety of anti-inflammatory (IL-4, IL-10, IL-11, and IL-13) but also pro-inflammatory (TNF-α, IL-12B, IL-1β, IL-6, iNOS, and CCL22) factors, reflecting the spectrum of phenotypes detected in the TME [25].
