Obesity is implicated in significant changes in the distribution of immune cells in adipose tissue, with a decrease in regulatory T cells (Treg), Th2 cells, and M2 macrophages, as well as a decrease in M1 macrophage cells and an increase in CD8+ T lymphocytes, hampering immune defense and T cell activity [47,66,68]. Here, CD8A is linked to obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
