The knockdown of mEAK-7 in several human cancer cell lines with high endogenous mEAK-7 expression, such as H1975 (non-small cell lung cancer, NSCLC), H1299 cells (NSCLC), and MDA-MB-231 (breast cancer), resulted in decreased lysosomal localization of mTOR, marked attenuation of S6K2 and 4E-BP1 phosphorylation, and diminished cell proliferation and migration. This evidence concerns the gene RPS6KB2 and non-small cell lung carcinoma.
