The present study showed that inhibition of autophagy by 3‐MA effectively suppressed RACK1‐mediated neuroprotective effects, as shown by improved neurological outcomes, reduced neuronal apoptosis, and decreased cortical tissue loss; these results were consistent with previous studies that support the protective role of autophagy in TBI rather than a cause of neuronal apoptosis after brain trauma. This evidence concerns the gene RACK1 and brain injury.
