Mas-Parés et al. (2023) validated the main methylated CpG loci using pyrosequencing and demonstrated an association of SETD8, SLIT3 and RPTOR methylation with gestational weight gain, with higher levels of SETD8 and RPTOR methylation being associated with a higher risk of obesity in the offspring. Here, KMT5A is linked to obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
