BAP1 is an important tumor suppressor, mutated in sporadic uveal melanomas, mesotheliomas, renal cell carcinomas, hepatocellular carcinomas, and to a lesser extent other cancers (28, 40–42), while BAP1-interacting ASXL proteins are commonly mutated in myeloproliferative disorders (43, 44). The gene discussed is BAP1; the disease is neoplasm.
