More recent evidence has shown that the stimulatory effect of Y14 phosphorylation on Cav1 signaling activity is CSD-dependent, as increases in Cav1-mediated focal adhesion interactions in prostate cancer cells transfected with a phospho-mimetic Y14D Cav1 mutant are nullified by an accompanying F92A/V94A CSD Cav1 mutation [30]. This evidence concerns the gene CAV1 and Familial prostate cancer.
