The Cas13a-crRNA complex effectively blocks the KRAS-G12D mutation signaling pathway in multiple KRAS-driven pancreatic cancer models, leading to apoptosis and tumor growth inhibition in vitro and in vivo, demonstrating that the CRISPR-Cas13a system can be used as a targeted therapy for pancreatic cancer mutant KRAS (Zhao et al., 2018).
