In the literature, Remelli et al. identified a low incidence of fever in elderly individuals with COVID-19 [8], attributing it to a possible diminished thermoregulatory response, including sudomotor and vasomotor responses, as well as quantitative and qualitative abnormalities in the production and response to endogenous pyrogens such as IFN-y, IL-4, IL-6, and TNF-α [9]. This evidence concerns the gene TNF and COVID-19.
