Myositis-Specific Antibodies (MSA) such as anti-complex nucleosome remodeling histone deacetylase (anti-Mi2), anti-Melanoma Differentiation Associated protein 5 (anti-MDA5), anti-Nuclear Matrix Protein-2 (anti-NXP2), anti-Transcription Intermediary actor-1γ (anti-TIF1γ) and anti-SUMO-Activating Enzyme Subunit SAE (anti-SAE) were demonstrated to be highly relevant to the diagnosis and clinical presentation of DM. This evidence concerns the gene IFIH1 and myositis disease.
