FABP7, predominantly found in astrocytes, forms LDs to provide protection against reactive oxygen species (ROS) toxicity, and its mRNA expression exhibits synchronized oscillation with the sleep–wake cycle.A proteomic screening study of postmortem AD brains found that FABP7 was upregulated in the brains of patients with symptomatic AD compared to those with asymptomatic AD. Here, FABP7 is linked to Alzheimer disease.
