Curcumin increased the interaction between calmodulin-1 (Cdh1) and Skp2, leading to ubiquitination and degradation of Skp2, overcoming resistance to 5-FU in CRC, and inducing apoptosis in CRC cells resistant to 5-FU, suggesting that curcumin is a potential chemo-candidate for the treatment of 5-FU resistant CRC (Gan et al. 2023). The gene discussed is CALM1; the disease is colorectal carcinoma.
