Another important result of the present study was that low levels of HDL-C were predictors of both obstructive CAD and inducible MI together with the eNOS 298Asp SNP, suggesting a pathophysiologic interaction between the properties of HDL and a genetically determined primary endothelial dysfunction such that associated with eNOS Glu298Asp polymorphism [27]. Here, NOS3 is linked to myocardial infarction.
