Findings from several studies have shown that a high adherence to the MedDiet can lead to a reduction in several biomarkers of inflammation known to be implicated in the onset of AD, such as pro-inflammatory cytokines interleukin-1β (IL-1β), interleukin-6 (IL-6), and tumour necrosis factor-alfa (TNF-α) [63–65].
