As CB1R activation, by reducing presynaptic neurotransmitter release, can produce amnesia (Wilson and Nicoll, 2002; Figueiredo and Cheer, 2023), and an impaired excitatory neurotransmission has previously been observed in CRBN-KO mice (Choi et al, 2018), here we sought to validate whether CRBN is a bona fide binding partner of the receptor, and if so, what the functional consequences of this interaction are. Here, CRBN is linked to amnesia.
