Downregulation of FTO increases the abundance of m6Am and enhances the tumorigenic capability of CRC cells, enabling them to form tumor spheres and tolerate combined chemotherapy with 5-flurouracil and 7-ethyl-10-hydroxycamptothecin, while PCIF1 overexpression in CRC cells contributes to malignant behaviors, including increased cell proliferation, migration, invasion, fibronectin adhesion, and colony formation, indicating its engagement in multiple stages of tumorigenesis (Wang et al., 2023a). Here, FN1 is linked to colorectal carcinoma.
