More importantly, we found that only indicators reflecting the sensitivity to thyroid hormones (PTFQI, TSH, TT4RI, and TSHI) but not common T3 and T4, were significantly related to the sleep duration in this subgroup populations, suggesting that thyroid hormone sensitivity indexes may be more suitable for evaluating the sleep duration in depression, compared with these common thyroid-related hormone indexes. This evidence concerns the gene TG and depressive disorder.
