Relations with several tumor suppressors were noted, including: TP5391 which is associated with tobacco related mutations133,134 and several cancer types including breast, leukemia, cervical135–137 and lung133,138,139; RB1, is related to several cancers including childhood retinoblastoma, osteogenic sarcoma, bladder93 and lung, specifically with regard to smoking behavior140,141; and CDKN2A, which has been associated with a wide variety of cancers,94 including those that are tobacco-related, such as head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, oral and lung cancer142–145. This evidence concerns the gene RB1 and head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
