In a study of 27 stage IIIA NSCLC patients receiving neoadjuvant nivolumab plus carboplatin, Laza Briviesca et al. found that patients who subsequently developed a pathological complete response (pCR) had higher frequencies of CD3+CD4+PD-1+ cells, along with greater expression on a per cell basis (mean fluorescent intensity, MFI) of the NK-activating receptor NKG2D on CD3+CD56+NKG2D+ cells, CD56 on CD3+CD56+ cells, and CD25 on CD4+CD25hi cells [71]. This evidence concerns the gene KLRK1 and non-small cell lung carcinoma.
