Similarly, Sharma et al. [36], reported increased levels of neutrophils, neutrophil activation markers (MPO), and NETs in patients with chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH), as well as positive CitH3 results in the fibrin-rich portion of vascular occluded CTEPH patients, suggesting that thrombotic NETs could be a novel therapeutic target to treat thrombosis and prevent the sequelae.
