CD48 and colorectal neoplasm: The study found that infiltrated monocytes/macrophages induced NK cell activation, and then activated NK cells showed exhaust and death by CD48/2B4 interactions in HCC.[52,53] Furthermore, NK cells interacted with CD8+ T cells which enhanced epitope spreading of the T cell immune response and a tumor antigen-specific T cell immune response in colorectal tumors.[54] Based on KLRB1 expression, the infiltration of CD8+ T cells could not be associated with NK cells to suppress the development of HCC.
