The E6AP AZUL (amino-terminal zinc-binding domain of ubiquitin E3a ligase) domain binds to an intrinsically disordered region in Rpn10 to induce a disorder-to-order transition in the so-named Rpn10 AZUL-binding domain (RAZUL).26 With its prevalent role in cancer and neurological disease and with the importance of E3s for targeted protein degradation, E6AP is an attractive therapeutic target. This evidence concerns the gene UBE3A and nervous system disorder.
