After adjustment for the genetic correlation between different components of IR, we revealed that fasting insulin adjusted for BMI was associated with hypertension risk (OR 1.06, 95% CI 1.03–1.10, P = 2.60 × 10–4), and TG was associated with atrial fibrillation (OR 3.24, 95% CI 1.01–10.45, P = 0.049). The gene discussed is INS; the disease is atrial fibrillation.
