ASTL and familial pancreatic carcinoma: The paucity of specific surface antigens on solid tumors limits the success of chimeric antigen receptor T (CAR-T) cell therapy for solid tumors.2 Our group has reported that SAS1B (sperm acrosomal SLLP1 binding protein, ovastacin, astacin-like, ASTL) is a zinc metalloproteinase that binds to sperm acrosomal SLLP1 binding protein, expressed in human oocytes.3 4 We also demonstrated that SAS1B represents a potential immunotherapeutic target for human uterine and pancreatic cancers.
