In NSCLC, targeted therapies against somatic gene mutations as well as rearrangements in Kirsten rat sarcoma virus gene (KRAS), epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK), ROS proto-oncogene 1 (ROS1), B-Raf proto-oncogene (BRAF), neurotrophic tyrosine receptor kinase (NTRK), mesenchymal–epithelial transition kinase (MET), and receptor tyrosine kinase (RET) have been designed and approved by the Food and Drug Administration and the European Medicines Agency and provided by the NCCN guidelines. The gene discussed is ALK; the disease is non-small cell lung carcinoma.
