To address this, we investigated the impact of the absence of Mlkl (Mlkl−/− mice) or partial loss of Mlkl (Mlkl+/− mice) on MAFLD using a diet that mediates obesity-driven MAFLD, viz., a high-fat, high-fructose, high-cholesterol (HFHFrHC) diet that is documented to promote obesity-mediated MAFLD [24]. Here, MLKL is linked to obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
