Since the early 2000s, several MAPT mutation-based models have been described for AD research, including Knock-In models, and are based on various mutations within the MAPT gene with the employment of distinct promoters as well as on different combinations with mutations both in the APP gene or in the PS gene, thus individually portraying several AD features as well as different appearance timings (Table 3). This evidence concerns the gene MAPT and Alzheimer disease.
