Among the most eligible candidates as markers of therapeutic response in IBD, attention has been focused on IL13RA2 (IL-13 Receptor alpha 2), whose predictiveness of non-response to infliximab had been investigated at the beginning of the previous decade, when an increased expression of this gene was detected in the mucosal specimens of IBD patients benefitting from infliximab therapy [51,52]. Here, IL13RA2 is linked to inflammatory bowel disease.
