This is supported by preliminary data in a syngeneic mouse model of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC), where ATR inhibition by AZD6738 resulted in cGAS/STING pathway activation and induced tumor infiltration of cytotoxic T cells that eventually achieved tumor growth arrest and prolonged survival [88]. The gene discussed is CGAS; the disease is head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
