Interestingly, we found that NP tau was significantly reduced in the AD-tau-injected 5xKO mice compared to the injected 5xWT mice (Fig. 3m), suggesting MSUT2-dependent tau seeding and/or spreading is observed both in the absence and presence of Aβ pathogenesis, with MSUT2 regulating NP, NFT and NT tau pathology.
