Given that BRAF V600E mutations in papillary thyroid carcinomas are associated with distinct morphological features, including a well-developed papillary architecture [38], it can be hypothesized that non-papillary structures may be more pronounced in thyroid carcinomas with RET and/or NTRK3 fusion genes.
