FAM169A and neurodevelopmental disorder: Subsequently named Soluble Lamin-Associated Protein (Roux et al., 2012), SLAP was found to be highly expressed in the mouse and human nervous system (Cao et al., 2019; Chen et al., 2022) and among the top 20% of genes most intolerant to functional genomic mutations suggesting a high association with neurodevelopmental disorders (Fadista et al., 2017; Karczewski et al., 2020; Shohat et al., 2017).
