Considering USP16 and uH2A play pivotal roles during animal development, as well as in K-RAS-driven lung cancer (23), castration-resistant prostate cancer (24), an Alzheimer’s model (26), transcription-replication conflicts caused by replication stress (38), and fly longevity and healthy lifespan (39), our work may have implications in future therapeutic interventions targeting USP16.
