Besides the clinical parameters, a recent meta-analysis summarized several laboratory parameters associated with the AF recurrence after CA as natriuretic peptides (mainly N-terminal prohormone of B-type natriuretic peptide [NT-pro-BNP] and B-type natriuretic peptide [BNP]), markers of fibrosis (galectin-3, transforming growth factor-β), inflammatory pathway markers (C-reactive protein [CRP], tumour necrosis factor-α, interleukin-6, white blood cell count), lipid profile markers and other parameters (creatinine, eGFR, troponin I, uric acid) [15].
