Similarly, AML patients showed increased CD34− progenitors [II] (P = 0.025), CD34+ progenitors [IV,VIII] (P < 0.001, P = 0.004) and lymphocytes [IX] (P < 0.001), whereas PCs had increased SSClow granulocytes [III] (P = 0.006) and erythroid cells [X] (P < 0.001) but comparable progenitor percentages. The gene discussed is CD34; the disease is acute myeloid leukemia.
