In the first study, four genetic variants from four genes: Aquaporin-3 (AQP3; rs2231231), Aquaporin-7 (AQP7; rs2989924), Nitric oxide synthase 3 (NOS3; 4B/A intron) and Cytochrome B-245 Alpha Chain (CYBA; rs4673) were investigated for their association with later-life hypertension, in a cohort of women with prior PE (N = 48) or who had a previous normotensive pregnancy (N = 98) (45). This evidence concerns the gene AQP3 and hypertensive disorder.
