Depletion of PCK1, a major enzyme of hepatic gluconeogenesis, inhibits KAT5 ubiquitination by increasing its O-GlcNAcylation and subsequently promotes HCC metastasis through KAT5-mediated acetylation of key genes related to epithelial-mesenchymal transition (Liu et al. 2021). This evidence concerns the gene KAT5 and hepatocellular carcinoma.
