LDLR and cardiovascular disorder: Our comparison of the fine-grained metabolic associations across the lipoprotein measures enables the identification of clusters of genes with similar metabolic profiles, suggesting TRIM5 as a potential therapeutic target for lowering pro-atherogenic lipid levels, and therefore cardiovascular diseases, as the metabolic profile of TRIM5 aligns well with genes that affect LDL cholesterol intake to hepatocytes through the LDL receptor.
