Melatonin, as a strong antioxidant, can alleviate H2O2-induced liver cell damage by regulating the extracellular regulated kinase/protein kinase B/nuclear factor-kappa B pathway (Moniruzzaman et al., 2018), mitigate oxidative stress damage in small intestine tissues caused by sepsis by upregulating the expression of sirtuin 3 (Xu et al., 2021), and attenuate oxidative stress damage in chondrocytes caused by H2O2 by regulating the AMPK/Foxo3 pathway (Chen et al., 2021). Here, FOXO3 is linked to Sepsis.
