To show additional evidence Gal3 supports stem like properties, we evaluated the relative levels of CD44, CD133, and CD117 positive populations and the percentage of cells displaying aldehyde dehydrogenases (ALDH) activity, in the ARK1 and ARK2 cell lines which have been shown to be enriched for cancer stem cells (CSCs) in other gynecologic cancers [44, 45] (Supplementary Fig. S8a–h). The gene discussed is PROM1; the disease is female reproductive organ cancer.
