This result confirm the one obtained by Pound et al.49 who have shown that a very low recurrence of prostate cancer 11 years later is possible, and that 10 percents of men with undetectable prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels 10 years after radical prostatectomy subsequently develop biochemical recurrence, which means an increase in the PSA levels without clinical signs of cancer. The gene discussed is KLK3; the disease is prostate carcinoma.
