Hypercalcemic CKD cats had significantly higher plasma albumin concentrations (3.2 [3.1, 3.3] vs 2.9 [2.8, 3.1] g/dL; P = .01) and lower plasma PTH concentrations (5.1 [.6, 13.3] vs 20.9 [8.9, 55.4] pg/mL; P = .003) than normocalcemic CKD cats. This evidence concerns the gene ALB and chronic kidney disease.
