The association between the 3 SNPs and FI remained significant (rs4788102: t = −3.36, β ± standard error of the mean [SEM] = −0.05 ± 0.02, P = 7.0E−4; rs7359397: t = −3.38, β ± SEM = −0.05 ± 0.02, P = 7.0E−4; rs7498665: t = −3.40, β ± SEM = −0.05 ± 0.02, P = 7.0E−4; Table S13), indicating that the correlation between the 3 SNPs in SH2B1 and FI, mediated by the hippocampal regions, was independent of obesity. This evidence concerns the gene SH2B1 and obesity disorder.
