Based on the recommendation of natriuretic peptides (brain natriuretic peptide [BNP] and N-terminal-pro BNP), many other biomarkers have been thoroughly investigated to reflect the different pathophysiological processes (e.g., fibrosis, inflammation, myocardial injury, and remodeling) in HF, and some of these biomarkers have been subsequently recommended to aid in the diagnosis and prediction of HF [[7], [8], [9], [10]]. Here, NPPB is linked to hydrops fetalis.
