Sugimoto et al. demonstrated that RUNX2 confers gemcitabine resistance in pancreatic cancer AsPC-1 cells through the inhibition of TAp63, suggesting that targeting RUNX2 may serve as a novel strategy to enhance the efficacy of gemcitabine treatment in p53-deficient pancreatic tumors [179]. This evidence concerns the gene RUNX2 and pancreatic neoplasm.
