Intriguingly, KEAP1-mutant or KEAP1-deficient lung cancer cells exhibit an increased reliance on glucose, and under glucose-deprived conditions, they accumulate disulfide molecules aberrantly due to upregulated SLC7A11-mediated cystine uptake (Koppula et al., 2021a).
